TOUR GUIDES
Bio of Per Asander
Per Asander is a professional sommelier, tour leader and guide.
He was born in Stockholm, Sweden in 1957, but he has been living in Norway since 1988. His has a background in natural science and he worked within the pharmaceutical industry for more than 10 years. Due to his great passion for language and traveling, he switched career paths completely to the tourist industry almost 20 years ago.
His favorite country has always been Italy and for that reason he studied Italian language in Oslo and Rome in the early nineties. Today he looks upon Italy as his second home and Italian as his second mother tongue. Being a globetrotter, Perino has traveled all over Europe both professionally and for pleasure.
As a tour leader he has been in England, Scotland, France, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Russia and the Scandinavian countries. He speaks English fluently, some German and has basic knowledge of French and Spanish, in addition to his mother-tongue Swedish and Norwegian. Again what about Italian it should be mentioned again.
Another great interest is food and wine, and for this reason he received a professional degree as a sommelier in Rome. And this is of great importance when he travels in Italy - so well-known for its enogastronomy - but also in other countries. Besides the training in language and as a sommelier he has also made deeper studies of Italian culture and history. Therefore, he is known as a well-informed tour leader, always sharing his knowledge with great enthusiasm, joy and vividness.
He is also known for his personal and kind treatment of his guests, always doing his outmost to satisfy their wishes. And should a problem occur, he will be on the spot trying to find a solution.

Before starting to give tours he's been an art restorer for few years. He enjoys very much giving tours with a broader perspective besides the arts; this is also due to the academicals upbringing he's been evolved in the past few years focusing on Iconology. Lately he's started to have some experience as an art curator for some contemporary artists exhibiting their works in Rome.
